On Remembrance Day 2024, colleagues from Clarke Chapman and neighbouring businesses at the Baltic Business Park came together to observe a two-minute silence at 11:00 am, honouring those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
The ceremony was led by Paul Adams, QHSE Manager at Clarke Chapman, Gateshead, with musical support from John Sample, who played the cornet. John, a dedicated member of a community band, has generously volunteered his time for Clarke Chapman’s Remembrance Day Service over the past few years. His connection to the company runs deep, as his father worked for Clarke Chapman as a chauffeur at the Victoria Works site during the 1950s and 60s.
During the ceremony, Aidan Ellison, an Electrical Apprentice at Clarke Chapman, Gateshead, laid a wreath on behalf of the Clarke Chapman workforce at the company’s War Memorial, located at the entrance to the Gateshead site. Additional wreaths were laid by Rob Anthony, Country Manager for Kongsberg Maritime Ltd, and a representative from Acrol, one of Clarke Chapman’s neighbouring businesses.
