We recently had the pleasure of hosting Kane (Estimator/Operator Machine Shop, Gateshead Phil Carson’s son) for a week of work experience at our Gateshead site. Kane spent time across several departments, including Machining, Assembly & Test, Procurement, Spares, QHSE and Finance. He had the opportunity to experience different aspects of our operations and gain valuable insights into the world of engineering.
Here’s what Kane had to say about his experience:
“I really enjoyed my time in the finance department; the presentation was excellent. Procurement and spares were also a fun place to be. My favourite part of the week was in assembly and test. My experience in quality control using the Romer arm was very interesting and enjoyable. I’ve learned that safety is paramount in a hands-on engineering environment. I would just like to thank everyone at Clarke Chapman who took the time to provide me with a fantastic work experience week.”
